A few notable things happened this week: my nana turned 92, I got sick, we spent some of the grant money we won in December (!!) and I finished my library copy of Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow.
All of these developments assisted in helping me keep costs low: nana paid for a feast in Brighton Beach despite the fact that it was, in fact, her birthday. Being sick meant I did not step foot outside of my apartment which, in New York, is a surefire way to spend money you don’t have.
Staying home to read my library book had the same effect (even if I had some issues with the book itself — more of my review below). And while spending grant money is technically spending money, it felt more like an accomplishment than a shopping trip. More on what we bought below, too! Everything is below!
But first, a look at my budget. I have a lot of red going on here, because I’ve cut a lot of the limits on my budget. While I have been spending less money, I could still stand to cut back a bit more, at least for the time being. One of the reasons I love Tiller is because it provides a thorough look into my spending patterns and ways I can reimagine my budget to fit into my current salary. Now that I’m cutting back on therapy, the Doctors/Dentist category will be a little less daunting, but here’s what we’re working with right now:
